At WorkBC, Laurie works as Employment Counsellor assisting job seekers with all aspects of employment search and career planning. This may include connecting job seekers with employers and acting as a liaison in the hiring, training, and the retention process. Laurie can provide businesses and job seekers information regarding the local labour market; wage subsides and training grants.

What brought you to Powell River?: Work, family and a slower pace of life.
When you're not working, how do you like to spend your time?: Hiking, biking, camping, at the lake. Anywhere outside. But when the weather is dark and wet I can be found in one of our amazing fitness facilities!
What’s the first career you dreamed of having as a kid? : Airline stewardess. I am not sure if it is because I love to travel via plane or because I have a desire to assist people.
What's one thing about you that surprises people?: Not sure... I tend to be an open book and wear my heart on my sleeve.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?: Count your pennies and the dollars will look after themselves! Oh wait we don't have pennies!
What is a dream you have that you’ve yet to achieve?: Ski every mountain in BC.
What do you love most about your career? : Assisting people to achieve their goals.
