Bursary Program FAQs

The purpose of the Bursary Program is to assist business women in achieving their business goals and furthering their business endeavours.

A special thanks to First Credit Union Powell River for donating two $500 bursaries to the Coastal Women in Business Bursary Program.

The bursary awarded is available for one year and must be used within 12 months of being awarded.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION BURSARIES

Applicable expenses for these bursaries include:

  • registration fees or tuition for a workshop, business course, seminar, webinar, online course, or other business education program.

  • expenses incurred for business coaching

  • memberships with relevant associations

  • acquisitions such as new software programs, computers, or other equipment that will improve your business services or production.

Coastal Women in Business is proud to provide 2 $500.00 bursaries generously donated from First Credit Union Powell River.

One application only per member.

TERMS OF ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must:

  • Be a current member in good standing of Coastal Women In Business.

  • Have owned this business for at least one year (this funding is not for start-ups).

  • Submit a letter of intent with the application form.

  • Submit a completed application.

  • Provide a letter/report upon completion of the course or business development experience including receipts, proving bursary funds were used as intended.

  • Agree to their name and photo being published.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

  • Apply online only.

  • Deadline for applications is July 1, 2024 at Midnight.

  • Bursaries will be awarded in September 2024 at our AGM.
